This honored tradition offers many adventures for all to enjoy. Everyone has a grandfather or grandmother who has told you that story of how they were in World War II or that they were part of the Women’s right to vote. These stories not only offer knowledge and learning, they are part of your history. Learning about your ancestors through your immediate family is part of genealogy. Storytelling offers this much and more. Everyone likes to sit around and listen to their relative tell them about these types of stories. It gives them a sense of purpose because more often than not, stories always have a moral to whatever was being told.
Through storytelling there comes a chance of bonding. Bonding with family or friends is an important part of our lives. These are our partners in life and it is always a good idea to draw knowledge from their experiences. There are times which storytelling is imagined and considered fiction, but because of the storyteller, the story gives entertainment. Having a good storyteller is vital for good storytelling. Many people in today’s society are forgetting this time honored tradition.
Forgetting about storytelling is never a good idea. Without this tradition, there would be more television watching, video game playing, and all together waste of time.
